During the production process, a uniform and tight weaving is a priority, so the end result is a high-quality carpet that will be long lasting, contemporary and earth-conscious. Available in 5 sizes.
Although these carpets have potentially traveled hundreds of kilometers, they are not just durable - they also carry a stunning exceptional story. In a small village in India, bicycle tubes are cut into small strips and are then woven together into these perfect rugs. All the weaving is of course done by hand.
Danish brand Rug Solid’s fundamental idea is rooted in recycling. They are taking it upon themselves to create new life by transforming waste into beautiful, unique design rugs in an exquisite quality. Less waste. More function. It’s that simple.
Rug Solid's products are certified Global Recycled Standard (GRS). The standard applies to the full supply chain and addresses traceability, environmental principles, social requirements, and labeling. GRS was developed with the textile industry in mind.
Daily cleaning may be done with regular vacuuming or by beating the rug. If the rug is stained, it's often easier to rinse it with a garden hose than using a brush to avoid rubbing the stain in further between the fibres. Stretch the rug immediately if it gets wet.
The Bike Tube Carpet can go outside, but does not tolerate frost. It may eventually tenderize in direct sunlight. Since it is woven by hand, the size may vary by 3-5%. Some floors can be delicate and particularly susceptible, we therefore recommend that the carpet used with a rug underlay to prevent staining on the floor. If in doubt, check with the flooring manufacturer. The carpet may be slightly "dented" when put on the floor, but will flatten with use.
