Made from the root of a teak tree, this bowl has been hand carved with a charred finish. Every piece is uniquely different. The Sodwana Bowl's charred finish, so called Shou Sugi Ban, is an ancient Japanese exterior finishing technique, which preserves wood by charring it with fire. The technique achieves a natural black finishing without any of the chemicals common timber stains contains.

DISCLAIMER
Every Uniqwa piece has a story…
The range is largely individually, hand-made pieces. As the majority of our products are made from natural materials, elements such as texture, color and pattern may vary piece to piece.
Reclaimed timbers, naturally weathered materials and off-cuts otherwise discarded are frequently part of Uniqwa design features. Over time, natural splitting, cracking and loss of natural oils may occur and form part of the characteristics and beauty of Uniqwa products. These are not viewed as imperfections or faults, rather part of the natural life and beauty of timber.
We believe the use of natural materials and hand-crafted elements result in a testament to the unique qualities found in materials originating from nature.
NOTES
No refund, replacement or exchange will be offered due to the organic nature of the materials as described here. These are particular and unique aspects that you must accept when purchasing this item.
