Stone is porous and can stain, etch, or scratch if unprotected. Use coasters, trivets, or pads to guard against spills, heat, and scratches, and seal surfaces periodically for added resistance. Clean with a soft cloth and pH-neutral soap, then dry thoroughly. Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners, dragging objects, or leaving stone in harsh weather or prolonged sun.
